Sunday Post is a meme hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviews. |
Hello, bookworms! How are you doing? Have you noticed August is almost over?! π This is actually the first time I'm joining Sunday Post this month -- clearly, it hasn't been very eventful. Just me stressing because I'm still waiting for the fellowship results and getting angry because I've noticed that as long as something doesn't happen in English-speaking countries, the world doesn't care.
What has been happening in my life:
π» So far, I have read eleven books!
π» Remember me talking about an essay I wanted to write about original Uncharted trilogy? The abstract was accepted! π₯³ I can't wait to start writing it.
π» I finished the second season of Timeless (the end felt rushed, but, at least, there was an ending), binge watched Umbrella Academy & I'm now watching Lucifer. I missed the Devil.
π» I began five new posts and I haven't finished a single one. π

- I wrote my review of Where Dreams Descend by Janella Angeles. This beautifully dark book comes out in two days. If you love powerful female characters that defy the patriarchal order, cursed cities, magician competitions, and slow-burn romance, Where Dreams Descend is perfect for you.
- Last week, I gushed about Scribd and shared how much I'm enjoying this digital reading subscription service.

Around the Blogosphere is back! π I really enjoyed these discussion posts (I'm so sorry I haven't left a comment yet) and you should definitely read them.
- Becky @ A Fool's Ingenuity talked about how her blog has changed. I was left wondering how my blog has changed in the last years.
- Heather @ Random Redheaded Ramblings shared how it was coming back from blogger burnout.
- Kristen @ Metaphors and Moonlight wrote about how we can make our blogs more accessible for screen readers.

Are you having a relaxing August? Did you receive any new books this week?
If you like my blog and would like to support it, you may use my Book Depository affiliate link, my Scribd referral, or buy me a coffee.
You may also buy some bookish items from my RedBubble store.
Congratulations on getting your abstract accepted. Yeah! And, yeah, life is not very eventful in the age of Covid, but at least we still read, right?
ReplyDeleteAll the best on your results and I hope it brings you great news. And sadly it is true that the world doesn't respond to news from other non English speaking countries.
ReplyDeleteThat's amazing that your essay was accepted! Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your essay being accepted, that’s amazing. Thank you so much for sharing my post!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the acceptance, and I hope you receive word on your fellowship very soon.
ReplyDeleteWishing you a great reading week
Yay congrats on your abstract getting accepted! Also, congrats on reading eleven books. That's amazing. My reads this month are only about three, haha :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the essay! I still have 3 episodes of Umbrella Academy (season 1) to finish. I hope season 2 was great!
ReplyDeleteYay for a new Sunday post from you. Congrats on getting abstract accepted, sounds like a cool essay. I still need to watch the second season of Umbrella Academy, I’m still too wrapped in my Buffy rewatch though. I’ve seen you posting a lot about things happening that folks aren’t talking about on Twitter and I know how frustrating you’ve found it and it sucks. I think countries are becoming even more wrapped up in their own problems but it’s exhausting to only see things when it’s something really big. Don’t get disheartened people care but sadly news companies don’t.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the sharing my post, you always shout about posts and I definitely want to do that more.
Congrats on the abstract being accepted! Good luck writing the essay. :)
ReplyDeleteI loved S2 of Umbrella Academy but I've only just finished S3 of Lucifer... I'll get to S4 & 5 eventually, I'm sure. I find the guy who plays Lucifer hilarious.
PS - 11 books is awesome!
I also binge watched The Umbrella Academy and I'm now watching Lucifer! Both so much fun. I am so happy the devil is back! :D
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on getting your abstract accepted! :D Have a wonderful week!
Sorry about the stress! I’m constantly irritated about the lack of world news we see in the US. That’s why I’ve been shopping for new newspapers to subscribe to. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
