Sunday Post. Birthday Week! 🥳

Sunday Post is a meme hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviews.

Good morning book lovers. How are you doing? 😊 So, this is the last Sunday Post before my birthday on Tuesday. I want to write that time flew by, but it didn't. I mean, staying at home due to the pandemic made sure that the days are longer than usual. I feel my last birthday was a thousand years ago! Also, this will be my first birthday without Faúlha (last year was my first birthday without Luna), so I'm not overly excited. Especially because I got Faúlha for my birthday. He was my most beloved birthday gift and I miss him dearly. 💗

What has been happening in my life:

🌻 I'm still very behind my Goodreads goal. I have been thinking about challenging myself and try to read 15 books in 30 days. However, I fear I would never be able to do it, since I'm a really slow reader...
🌻 I have been spending my time working on the last presentation of my first PhD year, as well as revising a research article, so it hasn't been a very eventful week. Just me at home in front of a computer screen. I'm dying for a holiday...

  • A million years after requesting Grave Mercy from Netgalley, I finally read and reviewed it. I did have some issues with Ismae, but if you enjoy assassin orders, then this book is definitely for you.

As you can see, the last two weeks were fruitful. But I must say that I only paid for two of these books and I paid less than three euros for them. A bargain! 😋 For the second time, one of my wishes was granted on Netgalley. Thank you Wednesday Books for granting my wish to read A Golden Fury by Samantha Cohoe. 💛 Fable by Adrienne Young was on the "Read Now" section for seventy-two hours and I just couldn't resist it. I love Young's writing style! Yes, I know, the cover of Queen of the Conquered by Kacen Callender has a snake on it. But this is the first step to conquer my fear (which I don't think I will be able to conquer, but perhaps I will be able to read books with snakes on the cover without freaking out). The Wolf of Oren-Yearo by K.S. Villoso was recommended to me by Sim @Flipping Through Pages a few months ago. When I saw it was at 99 cents, I had to buy it.

What are your plans for July? Which book releases are you most excited about?

  1. I hope you have a lovely birthday! (Even if you're in lockdown.)

I nabbed Queen of The Conquered for 99p last week (I think) but I know it'll be a while before I get to reading it... I hope it's a good one!

  5. I think you could do 15 books in 30 days (if you read shorter books - they still count). I hope you birthday month is filled with some joy and celebration and that your presentation is amazing.

  6. Novellas make 15 books in 30 days possible. ;-) I'm about 20 books behind in my GR challenge too so I'm looking at the page numbers on my TBR shelf.
I hope you have a great birthday tomorrow, Tanya. x

  7. Wishing you a wonderful birthday celebration 🥳
I’m very behind on my goodreads goal too, this week I plan to read and finish a book every day so I can get at least a little caught up.

    Have a great reading week
