Can you believe May is here already?! I think April was the first month of the year that flew by to me (or perhaps it was only the second half of it that flew by). π Anyway, I didn't keep my promise of joining Sunday Post every week, but at least I did my part regarding the global pandemic and stayed at home - as an introvert bookworm, I'm very good staying at home. I'm just sad that I didn't read as much as I was hoping to.
This month in my life:
π» I once again dedicated some time to trying new recipes: from chocolate cake to fish skewers and vegetarian lasagna. Oh, and I cooked oven roasted potatoes and fresh tuna as well as some croissants. I also did some calzone (with home-made pizza dough leftovers) and surprisingly they ended up okay. Of course, as always, I burnt my fingertips. π
π» I haven't been the most active blogger, but I have a very good reason: I've reviewed over 200 books on Goodreads. For some crazy reason, I decided it was time to review every single book I ever read. I didn't realize how daunting this task would be when I began it...
π» This month I read five books (one more book than I read in March). π I think I could have read a little bit more, but I had to work on my fellowship application (please, wish me good luck because there's a lot that depends on me getting this fellowship, especially with the current state of my finances).

- I wrote my review of Feathertide, a beautiful tale about acceptance. Set in a magical world, the story follows Marea, a girl born with feathers that leaves her home in search of the father she never met.
- I shared my review of Lobizona. Inspired by Argentine folklore, it follows Manu's journey of self-discovery and her fight for the right to exist in a society that sees her as illegal.

How was your April? How many books did you read?

I’ve also been excellent at living through a pandemic. I’m happy to stay inside and read. I hope you have a great May!

Times are hard, but at least we are doing fine. Who would have thought that bookworms would be the ones to live through the pandemic without complaining? π
DeleteHappy readings!
Well done for doing your part staying home, even if you didn't read as much as you hoped. I will wish you all the luck on your fellowship application. I'm sure it will go well you've put so much work into it but extra look can hurt no one.
ReplyDeleteWow! You reviewed 200 books all at once? I struggle with the few I have to do each week. All the food you made sounds amazing. Remember to take pictures next time. If I can't taste it, at least I can look at it. I have no problem staying home either. My life style is quarantine. My fingers and toes are crossed for you!!! I hope you get the fellowship.
ReplyDeleteWow!! 200 book reviews is crazy impressive!!

I can't even imagine reviewing 200 books ! Good you had some time to cook - veggie lasagna sounds delicious.
ReplyDeleteI'm late to respond but good luck with the Fellowship application! How did it go?
ReplyDeleteI don't think I'd be brave enough to tackle reviews for every book I'd read but not reviewed... Ugh, I shiver at the thought! I read a lot of books before I started reviewing, lol.
Hope you're well!
