Hello book lovers! How was you week? 😉 After some lovely spring days, last week brought back a few rainy wintry days (I'm not complaining, since it's easier for me to work while listening to the falling rain and the blowing wind). Now, it's a summery day outside and I feel I'll spend my day complain about how hot it's. 😜 Anyway, less weather talk and more bookish one. Let's see what I've been up to.
This week in my life:
🌻 I made sale at Redbubble. I'm now working on a new design inspired by the Mental Health Awareness month.
🌻 My cat was stung by a wasp. 😿
🌻 Weekly series update! I watched the last of episode of Chambers and this series is all kinds of amazing. I can't tell much or I might spoil it for you. Now, it's Lucifer time!!!
🌻 My upwork freelancer application was accepted! 😄 I can apply for small freelancer jobs and hope to be picked. *fingers crossed*

🌻 Regarding my thesis, I wrote the acknowledgements, rewrote the abstract, revised the conclusion and re-read once again the three chapters. Today, I'll be revising the bibliographic references and the conclusion so that I can send it to my adviser.
🌻 I started working on my second mental health awareness post and, hopefully, I'll share it tomorrow.

- Between my thesis and doing some unpaid freelancer work to gain experience, I only shared one post. I wrote my first post on mental health, in which I talked about books affect my mental health. Writing this article and sharing it with you made me feel exposed and vulnerable. But I bottled up these feelings for long that I needed to talk about them to continue my healing journey. If you can relate with my words, please let me know.

This week I didn't have much time to blog hop, but here some discussion posts that I found quite interesting:
- Nicole @Feed Your Fiction Addiction enumerated "other stuff" she likes reading about on book blogs.
- Sam @We Live and Breath Books wondered about what is quiet YA. Have you ever heard about it? Because I surely haven't.
- Shannon @It Starts at Midnight talked about book cover glows up aka the dreaded cover change.

In the beginning of the year, I promised myself I would read more backlist books and so far it has helped me not to spend much money on books. However, I'm not on a book buying ban and I bought Nocturna by Maya Motayne. First, I'm in love with its cover. 💛 Second, a face-shifter thief and ancient powers?! How could I ever resist it?
Tell me all about the books you treated yourself with this week. And if you're planning to treat yourself with new books, you could use my Book Depository Affiliate Lin. 😜
If you like my blog and would like to support it, you may use my Book Depository Affiliate Link or buy me a coffee.
You may also buy some bookish items from my RedBubble store.

Congrats on the sale! I guess that was the good thing then, huh. Hope your cat is okay! Congrats on the Upwork thing as well :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Evelina.A couple of good things happened on the same day. :) Thank you, he's okay. It was just a fright. Happy readings! ;)
DeleteOh no! Your poor kitty! My mad cat attacked and killed a hornet last year but thankfully avoided getting stung while doing it... They really do like to hunt things that aren't good for them, lol.
ReplyDeleteThis was the third time I found him following a wasp. The last two times, I was able to stop him before he got stung. This time I was not at home and when I saw him, he was still following the wasp around with a swollen paw. Yes, they do! Crazy cats. =P
DeleteHappy readings! ;)
Aww your poor cat!! =( I've had my eye on Nocturna, hopefully it's good! Have a great week!!
ReplyDelete~ Kendra @ Kendra Loves Books
Hopefully, both of us will enjoy Nocturna. Happy readings! ;)
DeleteI'm fascinated with a group in the UK that posts an annual list of Mood-Boosting Books. It's always a good list.
ReplyDeleteI see why you couldn't resist Nocturna. What a beautiful cover! I hope the story lives up to the cover.
Have a wonderful reading week!
That seems a quite interesting list. Happy readings! ;)
DeleteCongratulations on the sale, the successful revising, and your application, but poor kitty! I was stung by a wasp once. That's some serious pain. Thank you for sharing my post. XOXO
ReplyDeleteThank you Sam. <3 I've been stung by a bee (twice) and it was very painful. Happy readings! ;)
DeleteI’m currently binging Lucifer, when that’s finished I might try Chambers. Good luck with the continued revision of your thesis.
ReplyDeleteHave a great reading week
Thank you. Hope you enjoy Chambers as much as I did. Happy readings! ;)
DeleteWell you had a wonderful week with the sale and other opportunities! I hope this week you have better weather and more good news!
ReplyDeleteAnne - Books of My Heart Here is my Sunday Post
It all happened on the same day, so it was good to finish a bad week with good news. Thank you Anne. Happy readings! ;)
DeleteOh no poor cat! Is she/he okay?? I have come to hate wasps ever since I got my dog. He loves chasing them around, and we're pretty far away from the vet so I'm terrified of letting him out to play in the garden by himself. I need to watch Lucifer, but I got to convince dad to watch it so now mom, dad and I are doing a full binge of the show. So happy about that. Congrats on your sale and to many more to come!
ReplyDeleteHappy reading!
He's okay, thank you. His paw got swollen, but he didn't seem to be in any pain. The next day, his paw was already normal-sized again. Having pets makes one afraid of bees/wasps. I hope you and your family enjoy Lucifer.
DeleteThank you! Happy readings! ;)
Oh no, I never even knew cats could get stung by wasps. Hope she is ok. Well done on your freelancer application and your first sale too. You've been busy!
ReplyDeleteHe's okay, thank you. :) I always try to keep myself busy - although, sometimes, I rather curl in a blanket and do nothing for hours. Happy readings! ;)
DeleteYour designs over at Redbubble look gorgeous! I'm still trying to make a sale there, even though I got a few likes for my designs! I actually made a Mother's Day design over there and I was hoping that people would buy the design. Congrats on making a sale!
ReplyDeleteHere’s my Sunday Post!
Ronyell @ Rabbit Ears Book Blog and join in this week’s Book Photo Sundays
Awww, thank you. <3 So far, I've been able to sell one/two designs per month. I'm hoping to give this project more attention in the next months so that I can increase the number of sales.
DeleteHappy readings! ;)
Congrats on redbubble sale 😊🎉🎉🎉
ReplyDeleteThank you Hana! :)
DeleteHow does the freelancing application work??
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the sale! That's cool!
And I haven't seen Chambers. I don't even know what it is about LOL
I love how you're making a design for mental health. I highly support it since I suffer from that as well.
Genesis @ Whispering Chapters
Sorry for the late reply. I created an Upwork account and then signed up to become a freelancer. I had to add all my info (work experience, studies, hobbies, ect.) and then pick which areas I could work on. Then I waited for their reply to know if I had been accepted or not (this was my second time applying).
DeleteI'm hoping I can finally finish the design this week.
Happy readings! ;)
Aww, poor cat. It sounds like you had a busy week. I’m glad some good things happened. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
Thank you. Happy readings! ;)
DeleteNocturna does have a great cover. Heh, I'd forgotten that I bought a book last week that I'll probably end up reading instead of what I said I'd read... Oh well! ;) Have a lovely week!
ReplyDeleteThe cover is so pretty, right?! *.* That's always happening to me. I rarely end up reading what I planned because I remember there's another book on my pile that I want to read more.
DeleteHappy readings! ;)
Poor kitty! go you on the thesis and freelancing. I hope this week is amazing!
ReplyDeleteThank you. Happy readings! ;)
DeleteCongrats on your Redbubble sale. That's great! And yay for being so close to the end on your thesis. I'm sure you'll be so relieved once you've sent it to your advisor.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Suzanne. I can't wait to send it to my advisor. Happy readings! ;)
DeleteCongratulations on your sale and good luck with the freelancing.
ReplyDeleteIt must feel good to be wrapping up that thesis.
Hope you enjoy your new book.
Thank you. It's an unbelievable feeling, if yet bittersweet (I worked on it for so long that it's hard to believe it will be over).
DeleteHappy readings! ;)
Nocturna sounds great and I love the cover. Hope you enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteThank you. Happy readings! ;)
DeleteCongratulations on your sale! Best of luck with the freelancing! Yay for being so close to finishing up your thesis, I'm sure you are almost relieved about it. I've seen Nocturna floating around and I'm going to see if my library has it.
ReplyDeleteTina @ As Told By Tina
Thank you & Thank you. :) It will be a bittersweet moment, but I can't wait to officially finish it. Happy readings! ;)
DeleteYay for being able to apply for freelancing jobs and you made a sale too. And it's cool the end is in site for your thesis, I know how much work you've put into it. I'd never seen Nocturna but I'll be waiting to see your thoughts, it sounds really cool.
ReplyDeleteThank you Becky. :) I just hope all the work I put into it pays off. Happy readings! ;)
DeleteGood luck with Upwork!! Hope you get lots of work through it!
ReplyDeleteNicole @ Feed Your Fiction Addiction
