Sunday Post. Blogging Slump

Sunday Post is a meme hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviews.
Hi book lovers. How is everyone doing? 😊 Me? I'm fine. Keeping myself busy with my thesis and working on some new designs. However, I'm in a blogging slump. I've no clue about what I want to write (and I haven't been reading that much to write reviews). If this has ever happened to you, what do you do to get out of a blogging slump?

This week in my life:

🌻 Worked on new designs for my Redbubble store that I can't wait to share with you.
🌻 Once again returned to Instagram. Hopefully, I won't feel disheartened by the algorithm again.
🌻 Finished watching the TV adaption of You (the bookworm in me was delighted by all the book references) and started the second season of the The Sinner.
🌻 I've been working on a semi-conclusion for my thesis, but I just can't write it. Now, I'm wondering if I'm not going though a writing block...

  • I joined Top Five Wednesday for the first time to ramble about five retellings coming out this spring. Two of the books mentioned have already been released and I still can't believe I got an ARC for another.
  • I wrote one of my favourite book recommendations posts, Season of the Witch - Bewitching Reads, in which I featured three of my favourite novels with women deemed witches. I may write a second part since I've been reading so many witchy novels.

This actually a mini book haul. Two weeks ago, I received an e-ARC of Five Midnights by Ann Dávila Cardinal through NetGalley. I'm really excited about this sinister tale based on el Cuco.

Which books did you get this week?

If you like my blog and would like to support it, you may use my Book Depository Affiliate Link or buy me a coffee.
You may also buy some bookish items from my RedBubble store.

  1. I always read a ton, so no blogging slump (yet), but your thesis is a big deal and it's understandable that it takes up a bit of your time. I think doing a meme is a good first step. Discussions are always good too, since you don't have to read any books to write them. Thanks for sharing my post. XOXO

    1. I can't wait to be done with my thesis. I don't mind the time it takes to write, but making sure that every single word/sentence/thought makes sense is driving me to exhaustion. Thanks for the recommendations. Memes are always helpful.

      Happy readings, Sam! ;)

  2. I usually just skip blogging when I feel like it. I did not publish anything for a week, even though I have scheduled posts, just do not have heart for it. But then I start missing it, so it is coming back naturally)))

  4. Blogging slumps are the worst. Honestly, I usually just end up taking a mini hiatus while I wait for inspiration to strike. But probably not a recommended method. Visiting blogs also help and finding a really good book you need to talk about also help.

    1. I haven't written anything new for two weeks, so I'm hoping this mini hiatus will bring me new ideas and the will to blog again. Thank you for your recommendations. Visiting blogs is always inspiring.

      Happy readings Becky! ;)

  5. I love your blog, it's so pretty and whimsical! I've been in a blogging slump before. They're pretty hard to get out of. It sounds like you have a lot going on with writing your thesis too! The fairytale retellings sound interesting! I just got The Evil Queen by Gena Showalter and am hoping it's a good read! I'm going to check out your witch recommendation post. You don't know how excited I am to read it; I've been asking around for which book recommendations, because I've been in the mood to read one! Great post!

    1. Awww, thank you Lindy. You're too sweet. <3 Perhaps my thesis is responsible for my blogging slump. Perhaps I just need a break from writing... I don't think I've ever heard of Showalter's The Evil Queen. Must take a look at it. :) I hope you find something you enjoy in my book recommendations.

      Happy readings! ;)

  7. I have treatments each week that really sap my physically and many times I just don't have the energy to write anything... so I just take the day off. It's not really a hiatus but that day break is just what I need to jump back in. Good luck with your writing woes! Persistence a lot of time is key. <3 And thank you so much for sharing my Instagram post. Your photos are so gorgeous!!

  9. Even when I am reading, I often have blogging slumps. Nay, large child-like tantrums, where I sit at my computer like a toddler, arms folded, whining "I don't wannnaaaa". Honestly nothing makes it go away for me but TIME. I found that forcing it sometimes helps only because I feel less... stressed about the slump? Like- if I have to post a review for a blog tour or some such nonsense, then I at least have posted? I KNOW. Since you have been able to do stuff on Instagram, make a post about some of your pictures! The times I feel best about blogging are when I am doing stuff I WANT to do, so that is probably my best advice! Good luck, slumps are SO not fun.

    1. I think this weekend I'm going to sit at my computer and try to write something - even if it's just a bunch of nonsense. Hopefully, it will make me feel less stressed about the slump as it usually happens to you. That sounds an interesting idea (I've actually never written anything about my Instagram experience). THANKS!

      Happy readings! ;)

  10. Since I’ve just returned from a long hiatus, I can say a break can be reinvigorateing.

Have a great reading week :)

  11. I've been in a bit of a blogging slump myself. I have a bunch of already written posts, but I don't even feel like posting those. It's a conundrum lol. At least you've been making some designs in the meantime! And yay for getting an ARC of Five Midnights, it does sound like it's gonna be an interesting book!

    1. You're welcome. You post did make me wonder about if I'd read an author after he/she behaved badly. :) You do? Need to find it! Can you drop the link? I started my Redbubble account back in January. It doesn't sell much, but I'm hoping that with a few more designs and "investment" it will go somewhere.

  13. Slumps are no fun. I thankfully don't get into them often, but usually just waiting it out is what I do. I'll at least do a couple of tags so that I have something to post and I think the last time I was in a slump, I actually wrote about the slump itself, lol.

  20. I'm always reading. The only times I trouble trying to decide what to read is when I have too many I want to read NOW, or I need a genre change. I normally read a variety of genres and I don't like to listen to the same genre as what I am reading. That's the only help I can offer. I hope you enjoy some great books this week!
