Book Tag. Disney Book Tag

As I mentioned in my last Sunday Post, I'm going through a blogging slump. After listening to some advices and wise words from other lovely bloggers, I began my search for book tags. I saw the Disney Book Tag for the first time on Bec&Bones and I saved it on my drafts to jong it later. I guess "later" is finally now. I won't lie, I worked on this tag for over a week (damn you, blogging slump), but I did it. Ps. I published this post last night by accident (it was not even complete), so to all the subscribers who received an e-mail, I'm so sorry.

THE LITTLE MERMAID: A CHARACTER THAT IS OUT OF THEIR ELEMENT
Let's face it: most characters just keep fumbling their way through the story without no clue of what is going on or what do to. I'm picking Konstantin from The Bear and the Nightingale because the Russian wilderness and its folk creatures were too much for him. He was out of his element.

ALADDIN: A CHARACTER THAT HAS HAD THEIR WISH GRANTED FOR BETTER OR WORSE
Marinka from The House With Chicken Legs. She wished to have friends and when she did things didn't work out very well for her.

MULAN: A CHARACTER WHO PRETENDS THEY ARE SOMEONE THEY ARE NOT
Mackenzie from The Archived. She lives a double life as a Keeper and must lie to everyone about her whereabouts to keep the Narrows and the Archive a secret. She lives a double life.

SNOW WHITE: A BOOK WITH AN ECLECTIC CAST OF CHARACTERS
This one is difficult. Maybe The Girl Who Drank the Moon by Kelly Barnhill? The book features so many different characters (human beings, monsters, dragons and witches).

SLEEPING BEAUTY: A BOOK THAT PUT YOU TO SLEEP
The Forest Queen by Betsy Cornwell. I was so excited to read this gender-swap Robin Hood retelling. But the book was too short and the characters were all one-dimensional.

THE LION KING: A CHARACTER THAT HAD SOMETHING TRAUMATIC HAPPEN IN THEIR PAST
Dineas from Rosemarked. After being captured by the Empire, he was tortured and then threw into a mass grave after being infected by the rose plague.

BEAUTY AND THE BEAST: A BOOK THAT WAS A BEAST (AKA BIG AND INTIMIDATING)
According to Goodreads the longest book I’ve read was Inheritance by Christopher Paolini. I remember it took me a really long time to finish it (more than a month, I believe). I need to get back to this world and read The Fork, the Witch, and the Worm. Ps. I've read all the A Song of Ice and Fire novels published so far, but in Portuguese one book is divided in two.

CINDERELLA: A CHARACTER THAT GOES THROUGH MAJOR DEVELOPMENT
Lira from To Kill a Kingdom. Without being too spoiler-ish, this girl no longer steals hearts from human princes. That's a major development.

TOY STORY: A BOOK WITH CHARACTERS YOU WANT TO COME TO LIFE
I love my favourite book characters in their books, so I don't think I'd want any of them to come to life (why would I want them to be part of my reality?). Unless it was my all time book crush, Mr. Darcy from Pride and Prejudice.

DESCENDANTS: YOUR FAVOURITE VILLAIN
The Commandant from An Ember in the Ashes. She's ruthless and destroys anyone who crosses her path. Even her own son has fallen victim to her evildoing. I just love to hate her.
I'm tagging everyone who loves Disney, which means everyone who reads this post? Is there actually someone out there who doesn't love Disney? At least, you've to love Mushu.

  2. Disney tag! Love it. I agree with you on The Little Mermaid prompt, pretty much all characters fumble through books confused and hoping for the best, it's just some are more confused than most. You've picked quite a few books I've not read before and you've also reminded me Rosemarked is on my TBR and I really want to read.

    1. I have yet to meet a character that doesn't fumble through the books confused. They are all confused, even if it's just a little. I got Rosemarked when it came out and I only read it this year. I hope you have an opportunity to read it soon.

      Happy readings, Becky!

  6. I haven't read the Bear and the Nightingale, but honestly I too would be out of my element in the Russian wilderness with a bunch of folk creatures :-P All of these sound like interesting books (except maybe the one that put you to sleep lol). And seriously, who doesn't like Disney?!

    1. Haha, I'd also be out of my element in the Russian wilderness surrounded by folk creatures. I'd probably be eaten by one of them. =P I've yet to meet someone who doesn't like Disney.

      Happy readings, Kristen! ;)

    1. If you join it, please let me know. :) Her mother's punishment ended up being the greatest thing that ever happened to Lira. Thank you. Happy readings! ;)

  8. It would definitely be difficult to come up with a character you want to bring back to life. I wouldn't even know where to start. I've only read An Ember in the Ashes in that series, but The Commandant is such a good villain. Enjoyed reading your answers!

    1. Every time I think The Commandant did her worst, she always shocks me by reaching new depths of evildoing. Thank you. Happy readings! ;)
