Sunday Post. Over The Moon

Sunday Post is a meme hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviews.
Does anyone know how can I have a conversation with Time? I know this is my usual ramble, but I'm starting to freak out how January is almost over - one more week and half and we will be in February - and I haven't reached the goals I set for myself regarding my thesis (I was supposed to have a full chapter written, edited and ready to send by the end of the month and I don't think a week will be enough to do it). And, there's this thing in February that is already stressing me and I can't think of a good damn reason (pardon my language) I signed myself up for this! *takes a deep breath*  Well, how was your week? Here's quick and short recap of mine...

What happened in the past week:

⛄ Stress and panic attacks apart, this week I finished reading State of Sorrow by Melinda Salisbury. The beginning of a story was a little strange, but as the plot went by it became fast-paced and "twisty". Now, I'm currently reading The Dark Vault by Victoria Schwab (I guess I'm re-reading since this huge book is re-release of The Archived and The Unbounded) and A Spark of White Fire by Sangu Mandanna, which I got from Edelweiss (anyone could download it)
☕ I decided to start a thread on twitter that focus on hidden gems. There are so many books that need more love and hugs. If you want to share your favourite hidden gems too, feel free to do it.
⛄ Yesterday, I wrote down two new post. Now, I just need to write them from paper (since I lost one post I had been working for weeks because blogger didn't save it, I write everything - EVERYTHING - on paper) to blogger. And create some banners and dividers. Book promotion takes a lot of time!
☕ Also yesterday, I watched Bird Box. I'm pretty sure this film will be haunting me for the next few weeks...
⛄ Someone actually used my Book Depository affiliate link! I only noticed it this week, but to the person who did it: THANK YOU SO MUCH! 💛 If you'd also like to use it, you may find it at the end of this post. 😜

ON THE BLOG

📚 MINI BOOK HAUL 📚
I apologize in advance for all the rambling, but I'm still freaking over the fact that I've these two books are in my possession. And it was all because of Twitter. 😊 When it comes to major publishers NetGalley only allows international bloggers to wish for the book. However, I was scrolling down through Twitter when a tweet from Amélie Wen Zhao popped out announcing that Blood Heir was now on NetGalley. As it's one of my can't wait books of 2019, I went to see if it was available to request or only wish for it. THE BOOK WAS MARKED "READ NOW"! I'm not sure if it was a mistake from the publisher because now the book is only up to request. I can't wait to read this beauty.

Now, as I told you above, I started a thread about hidden gems in the book world. One of the hidden gems I mentioned was Cadaver & Queen by Alisa Kwitney. And this led to a conversation with the author who was super kind and sent me an e-ARC of Corpse & Crown, a sequel I'm dying to read (maybe I should share with you all the 2019 sequels I need to get my hands on too). I'm still over the moon about the situation - especially because a few weeks ago I received from Edelweiss an e-mail denying my request to access this book.
Wishing everyone a happy week!

  1. I'm so glad you got two ARCs you're really excited for! That's awesome.
I'm also freaking out that January is almost over... Work is kicking my ass and stressing me out to the point I'm a twisty ball anxiety that does't know what to do with herself. :(

I wish you luck on getting more words down on your thesis. Even if you fall a short of your goal, you're closer to it than you were at the start of the month! Remember that and don't beat yourself up so hard.

  5. I'M TOTALLY GETTING THE SAME FEELINGS ABOUT TIME! My productivity levels basically died in January and I need a big do-over. I can also sense some mini panic attacks coming, since later I'll be trying something for the first time. D: Anyway, I hope you enjoy those two reads since you've been excited for them! Happy reading, lovely. ♥

  16. YAY enjoy those books you wanted! I do fine on Netgalley most of the time but the read now - request - wish for it thing is a conundrum. Anne - Books of My Heart

  17. I feel you on time moving too fast, where has this month gone? Not that I'm complaining because I'm almost at pay day but it has absolutely flown by. It's crazy really. Congrats on getting two books and isn't it awesome when you find a book and it's read now on Netgalley? It feels like winning a prize it really does.
