Sunday Post is a meme hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviews. |
Hello Autumn. Goodbye September. Let Halloween begin! π» I'd like to start today's Sunday Post by thanking to everyone who sent me encouraging and comforting messages - Nicci, Evelina, Sam, Becky, AJ, Samantha, Brittany and Nicole. Thank you for taking your time to read my depressing post. Your kind words and support meant a lot. π Some days are better than the others, but slowly I'll recover from this bad place I've fallen in.
Anyway, since today is the end of the month (can someone explain to me why times passes by so fast? I still have a thesis to write before the year ends), today's Sunday Post will be a monthly wrap-up. Now, let me sum up my September (I'll be focusing on the positive since my last post was very gloomy, but I'm still struggling; these feelings just don't vanish),
π Back in August, I sent an e-mail to Penguin Random House International asking about their international partners' program. After so many weeks without hearing back from them, I was no longer expecting an answer (not single publisher I had contacted before replied to my e-mails). However, a few weeks ago I received an e-mail and I can say that I'm now a PRH International partner. I didn't share with you before because I was not sure. Only after receiving two more e-mails did I believe that this had actually happened!
π My first (and probably last) NetGalley wish was granted. And my feedback ratio is currently a disgrace, so I need to read some ARCs this October.
π I'm hosting on twitter a Fall Giveaway.
π In September I read five books (I'm hoping to finish the 6th today): Red Winter by Annette Marie (the book has cute illustrations), Black Bird of the Gallows by Meg Kassel (this series is PERFECTION), Mist & Whispers by C.M. Lucas (I was expecting much more), End of Days by Susan Ee (does anyone know what Ee is up to? Because I need her to write more stories! This will forever be one of my favourite dystopias/apocalyptic series) and On Monsters by Steve T. Asma.
π This means, I've read so far 58 books this year (I know it's not much for some of you) and I'm six books ahead of my schedule.
π I started planning a Spyro Book Tag. I hope you'll be able to join it. If you don't know who Spyro is, you can check it here. I picked a fan made trailer, so that you see all the cuteness.
π Oh, I forget to share with that, a few weeks ago, I won a giveaway hosted by Carina @ CarinaBooks. I received a copy of The Glistering Court by Richelle Mead. Have you read it? What is your opinion?
π I discovered the perfect Autumn gif.

ON THE BLOG
- I was part of the Keeper of the Bees Blog Tour hosted by YA Bound Book Tours. I still can't believe I received an early copy of this beautifully eerie story that reminded me so much of Beauty and the Beast.
- I participated in the Top Ten Tuesday that was about hidden gems aka books that deserve to be hugged a lot more. So, go on and love these little ones, okay? Every book deserves to be loved (even those published by small publishing houses that do not have the money to market them).
- To celebrate the arrival of Autumn, I wrote a post where I share some books that I believe to be perfect Autumn reads. From mysteries to ghosts and magical places, these books will make you feel cozy on a cold Autumn night. If you could take a look at this post, it would mean a lot.
π MINI BOOK HAUL π

As I mentioned above, my first NetGalley wish was granted. I received an e-copy of The Girl King by Mimi Yu. I was definitely not expecting it to happen - first, because wishes are never granted; second, my feedback ratio is under eighty percent; third, I'm an international blogger. But I'm so happy it did because I can't wait to read this one (it's being advertised for the fans of Sabaa Tahir and the Ember Quartet is my favourite on-going series). Also, isn't the cover beautifully creepy?

Sharing with you another Autumn gif because cats playing on leaves is so freaking adorable! |

Happy Autumn Booklovers! Wishes of a great bookish week.
OMG! That is awesome news about PRH. That's a pub, who ALWAYS denies my eGalley requests. So, well done. They have some great books coming out. Way to be ahead on your reading challenge. Whoo hoo! I like The Glittering Court books. I still have the read the last one, but I enjoyed the first two.
ReplyDeleteSo exciting! I got connected to Ace Roc / PRH in 2015 and they have been awesome to me. I'm in US. But I am a huge UF fan. They have brought me back to the scifi space opera genre I used to read, and I have fallen head over heels for some of their fantasy offerings. Anne - Books of My Heart
ReplyDeleteHaha, that gif is so cute! Congrats on being a PRH Partner. That’s exciting. Happy October!
ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!

Congrats on becoming a PRH international partner. That's really awesome! My yearly reading goal is 75 books per year, and I'm at 33, so your 58 put me to shame. lol. So no judgement coming from this direction. Good luck! I hope that you are in a better place soon.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on becoming an PRH International Partner! That's so cool! And I'm loving your Autumn-blog-look. So pretty!

ReplyDeleteCongratulations on being a PRH International partner. guess, this is something I should try too? let's see, I am not sure about it.
ReplyDeleteAlso, glad you managed to read 58 books. My score is same too.
Have a lovely week :)
I love the autumn graphics and gifs! This is my favourite season and the kitties playing in leaves is too adorable.
ReplyDeleteI feel your pain on the disgraceful netgalley ratio... Mine is also currently abysmal but I'll get it sorted soon, I'm sure. :/
I haven't read The Glittering Court but Richelle Mead's books tend to be pretty awesome. I hope you enjoy!
Go you with PRH! That's exciting and I get not saying anything because you don't quite believe it. Good to know when we have no response to emails someone is looking at them. And you're 6 books ahead of your reading schedule? That's awesome, you celebrate where you are I hate comparing myself to other readers because you always feel inferior to someone.
