Sunday Post is a meme hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviews. |
How's everyone doing on this fine day? Me? I'm drowning is uni work, as usual, but I did have some free time that I didn't use as I should have. I could have done some productive and yet I may or may have not used to play video games. *hides in shame* But in my defence I did sent six pages of my dissertation to my supervisor to read/review. And I finished Norse Mythology by Neil Gaiman, which I read for my dissertation. So, I did work a lot, right? RIGHT?
What happened in my life this week:
🌻 SPYRO REMASTER!!! This is everything but bookish, but this is my childhood game. I've been dreaming about a remaster since only God knows when. And it's finally here! Just a few more months and my adorable purple dragon is back. 😭
🌻 I read Still Star-Crossed by Melinda Taub. I loved it so much! Benvolio and Rosaline are love. 💓 Definitely one of my OTPs (yes, I've one true parings). I loved them in The Shadow Prince by Rachel Vincent too.
🌻 Week synopsis: So many feelings!
This week I may or may have not spend too much money on books. My TBR pile did grow a lot, but it's all a matter of perspective about how much money I spend on new books. Firstly, I used a Book Depository coupon discount and I got A Gathering of Shadows and A Conjuring of Light by V.E. Schwab. *all hail the queen*

LAST WEEKS ON THE BLOG
- I joined Over Raging Seas Blog Tour a few weeks ago. I shared a review on this book about adventurous and bloodthirsty female pirates.
- Do you want to know one good thing about being an international reader? Most books are set outside your country. So, I joined Top Ten Tuesday since the theme was perfect for me and I didn't have to think much. 😜
📚 MINI BOOK HAUL 📚
I visited a bookshop this week and I left it with five shiny new books (since they are "pocket size", I paid a lot less for them than if I had bought the normal size version; in the end, I did save money, so, as I said in the beginning, it's all a matter of perspective). One is written by a Portuguese female author (in English the title may be "Ulysses's City", but I'm not sure if I'm translating it correctly) and the other four are by Isabel Allende - I got this trilogy that seems quite interesting since it's about myth and lost cities (one of books has a dragon on the cover, so I think it may also have magical creatures).
Also, this week, Netgalley accepted my request to an ARC copy of Down to Oath by Tyrolin Puxty, but when I was going to download it, the book had already been archived. I think it was probably archived a day after my request and I didn't notice it (I know, I know, it's not a first for me).
Wishing everyone a happy bookish week.
That happened to me once on NG too. I got the notification, went to download it THE SAME DAY, and it was achieved. I was mad, because I really wanted to read the book. Sorry that happened to you. I used to game too much. I had to just cut myself off, otherwise I would get lost in the game.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great series by V.E. Schwab. I have had the same thing happen with NG. Hope you have a great week.
ReplyDeleteMary my #SundayRoundup #13!
I’m pretty excited for Spyro Remastered too! Enjoy your new books. And you week ahead too. 😁
ReplyDeleteI played so much Spyro when I was a kid. I hope you enjoy your new books! I love ADSOM and can’t wait for the spin-off series.
ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
I can't believe that Spyro is getting remastered too! I can't wait to play this game!
ReplyDeleteHere’s my Sunday Post!
Ronyell @ Rabbit Ears Book Blog and join in this week’s Book Photo Sundays and Cover Spotlight!
I have not had that problem on NetGalley yet , what a disappointment! Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteOoh, I would hate having that happen on NG! My latest was a notification that I could download a book...and they didn't leave a link to download it. I tried requesting it, but it showed "no title here." What's up with that? LOL
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your week...I am curious about the Schwab books. Here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES
I loved that prompt on Top ten books set on other country. Though I didn't participate in it, I read many posts on that topic and guess what? I scored a number of books for TBR shelf.

Sounds like you got some great book bargains this week. I hope you enjoy all of your new books :)
ReplyDeleteI have been meaning to buy this series by Schwab for quite sometime now. I hope you enjoy these :)
ReplyDeleteSounds like a productive but busy week for you.
ReplyDeleteENJOY this week.
I've had some books archived before I could read them. A couple show I did download them but they never made it to my email.
ReplyDeleteI do hope you enjoy your new books.
I do like that feel gif.
Happy Reading!
Spyro remaster is very exciting :) I never got to play that game when I was a kid, but boyfriend keeps talking me into trying it (although I suck at video games xD) maybe I'll try :) it's so adorable, after all!
ReplyDeleteAnd congrats on hauling those! People are so excited about those, they must be good :)
I am so excited about the Spyro Remaster too!!!! I have preordered already because that is how I roll, I am very cool like that. It was a game of my childhood and I couldn't not get excited really. And yay for some new books, I hope you enjoy them. Have a good week.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the Uni work, and a break for video games is always good - it relaxes you and makes you even more productive in the end! All work and no play is not good!
